I am currently the Social Media Analyst and Online Marketing Specialist for Arizona Chapter National Safety Council, a safety-related not-for-profit located in Phoenix, Ariz.
My duties include analyzing Facebook engagement, creating online advertisements, curating social media content, designing and writing a monthly newsletter, creating promotional materials, writing weekly blog posts for both a defensive driving and an occupational safety blog, photographing events and much more.
In spring 2015, I participated in a semester-long program exploring and reporting on challenges faced by Nicaragua. My classmates and I spent months researching the history of Nicaragua, the challenges it has faced in the past, and the challenges it currently faces. We traveled to Nicaragua over spring break to do on-the-ground interviewing and reporting, and returned to Arizona to complete our stories in the six weeks before graduation.
I was able to write an in-depth article on immigration between Nicaragua and Costa Rica, which is akin to immigration between Mexico and the U.S.
